How it works

  1. 1Press Start mic test, then allow microphone access when the browser asks.
  2. 2Speak at a normal volume. The level bar should move to the middle or further, and the waveform should move too.
  3. 3If you have more than one mic (laptop mic and headset, say), pick the one to test from the list.
  4. 4Press Record 5 seconds, then play it back to hear yourself the way your squad hears you.

Common questions

It says microphone access was denied?

Click the padlock next to the site address, set Microphone to Allow, then reload the page. On a phone, also check that the browser is allowed to use the microphone in the app settings.

The level moves, but my friends can't hear me in game?

Then the mic works and the problem is in the game or Discord settings. Check the selected input device, push-to-talk and the mic volume in that app.

What does the noise suppression option do?

When on, the browser applies noise suppression, echo cancellation and automatic volume like a calling app. When off, you hear the mic's raw sound, which shows its real quality better.
