Touchscreen Test
Swipe the whole screen until every square turns green. Squares that stay dark are spots that don't respond, often called dead zones.
Swipe the whole screen
- Press Start test. The screen fills with squares.
- Swipe every square until it's green, corners and edges included.
- Put several fingers down at once to check multi-touch, then press Finish.
Results show here once you've finished swiping.

Common questions
How many fingers is normal for multi-touch?
Modern phones usually read at least 5 to 10 fingers at once. If only 1 or 2 register, the browser or a screen protector may be the limit rather than a broken screen.
What about ghost touches (the screen touching itself)?
Watch for squares that turn green without being touched. That's a sign of ghost touches, often caused by a lifting screen protector, a non-original charger or a damaged panel.
The corners are hard to turn green?
On curved screens or with a thick case, corners are harder to reach. Take the case off and swipe slowly from the edge towards the middle.
